The Position This exciting People & Capability Manager role is with a leading business in the food manufacturing sector. Based in Brisbane’s Western Suburbs, the company has a proud Queensland history spanning 95 years. Reporting to the Head of People & Capability, you will provide high-level human resources support and guidance, acting as a trusted business partner to enable leaders and employees to effectively execute business strategies and initiatives. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing the people strategy and building a high-performing organisation. We’re seeking an experienced, resilient, and self-sufficient individual who can lead a small team and ensure that HR services and initiatives are closely aligned with the organisation’s vision and goals. This role is ideal for an experience HR Business partner looking to dive into their first HR Manager role. Key Responsibilities Undertake strategic workforce development by partnering with managers and leaders to implement initiatives that build talent capabilities, strengthen workforce planning, and enhance organisational performance. Implement strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing workforce turnover, increasing employee satisfaction, and improving productivity to better capitalise on future business opportunities. Drive training and development for managers and employees, including implementing training programs, talent development, and succession planning. Provide advice, support, and coaching to managers and staff on a range of employee-related issues, including performance and disciplinary matters, helping managers proactively manage concerns. Continuously improve initiatives and policies that align with organisational values and enhance company culture, safety, and compliance. Collaborate with managers and leaders on recruitment strategy and processes, continuously improving candidate experience and onboarding while identifying innovative ways to attract and retain talent. Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, or a related field Demonstrated HR experience within the FMCG, manufacturing or blue-collar industry will come highly regarded. In-depth understanding of industrial relations, complex employment relations, enterprise bargaining and a solid knowledge of Queensland employment legislation. Proven experience as a Human Resources Manager with a demonstrated ability to engage, influence and contribute to organisational strategy and translate that strategy into operational deliverables via a broad range of stakeholders. Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a confident, approachable coaching style.
