With state of the art facilities and significant investment they have a newly created position to enhance Product Development and Engineering capability. About the role: As the Technical Engineering Manager, you will oversee the engineering and product development functions, manage project timelines, CAPEX and OPEX budgets, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products in the textiles space. Your role will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic planning, requiring hands-on technical expertise as well as strong leadership and communication skills. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have 5+ direct reports yourself. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring alignment with business objectives and sustainability goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to define project scope and deliverables. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Identify and mitigate risks, resolving technical challenges as they arise. Advocate for best practices in product development, manufacturing processes, and sustainability standards. Drive continuous improvement within the engineering team, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and product innovation. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Significant experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role, preferably within the plastics/building products manufacturing industry. Proven track record of managing and delivering complex product development projects. Strong technical background in materials engineering and manufacturing processes. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working in agile environments and with cross-functional teams. Commitment to sustainability and familiarity with environmental standards in manufacturing. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, who thrives in a dynamic environment.
