Role Highlights: Location: Inner West Melbourne, VIC Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with flexibility around start and finish times Work Environment: Heavy and high-risk manufacturing, involving traffic management, confined spaces, and contractor safety Key Responsibilities: EHS Systems Implementation: Lead initiatives to implement and enhance EHS management systems across the organization. Support the business in achieving ISO45001 and ISO14001 certification readiness. Identify and address areas for improvement within EHS processes to establish a robust, scalable framework. Audits and Compliance: Mentor and support internal audit teams, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Drive the national auditing program to assess critical risks and enhance system maturity. Oversee environmental compliance, including groundwater monitoring and licensing requirements. Training and Capability Building: Coach operational leaders to strengthen EHS capabilities and effectively manage risks. Guide sites through annual EHS reviews and the development of aligned EHS plans. Deliver training on contractor compliance and operational safety standards. Cultural Leadership: Partner with site leaders to foster accountability and proactive safety practices. Collaborate across teams to embed a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement. Your Profile: Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in EHS or a related discipline. ISO45001/14001 Lead or Internal Auditor certification. Certificate IV in Training and Education (highly regarded). Incident investigation certification (e.g., ICAM) is desirable. Experience: 5–10 years of experience in FMCG or heavy manufacturing environments. In-depth knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements in manufacturing and food industries. Demonstrated success in implementing and auditing EHS management systems. Expertise in environmental management is highly desirable. Skills and Attributes: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a collaborative approach. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of computer literacy. Overview We are working with a leading food manufacturer to find an experienced HSE Business Partner for their Carrara site. This is an exciting opportunity to drive safety improvements and work closely with Senior Leadership to implement and build on Safety Strategies and systems within a high risk, busy site. The Opportunity Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, this role supports safety operations at a 24/7 manufacturing site with approximately 140 team members. Key responsibilities include: Leading safety initiatives to address key risks, including heat fatigue and high risk heavy plant machinery Conducting gap analyses to identify and implement improvements in safety systems and culture. Collaborating with site leadership and corporate teams to align safety practices with business objectives. Building trust and engagement with the workforce to embed safety as a core cultural value.
