As part of their growing Australian business, they are now seeking a Senior Food Scientist to help drive innovation and product excellence across key categories.

About the Role
As a Senior Food Scientist, you will play a crucial role within the Research & Development team, contributing to the development and optimization of food products from concept through to commercial launch. You will lead multiple product development projects across categories, working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain.

This is a hands-on role that involves recipe development, lab and factory trials, and process improvements. You will also support cost optimization initiatives, contribute to continuous improvement projects, and use consumer and market insights to guide innovation. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a commercial mindset, and a passion for food.

Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related scientific field
  • 5–10 years of product development experience within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record of delivering new products to market in a fast-paced, commercial environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and labelling (e.g. FSANZ, HACCP)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in managing development timelines, project documentation, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for food and a drive to improve product quality, taste, and performance
