Sharp & Carter are looking for a Project Manager to join a QLD State Government Department. A Project Manager is required to lead and manage a significant and complex Data Capability Platform project and ensure the successful implementation and completion of project deliverables. You will work in collaboration with key stakeholders to deliver key outcomes.  You will play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Eco-System of the Project, a strategic endeavour aimed at redesigning, constructing, and deploying a cutting-edge data platform. The platform will need to allow seamless interoperability and integration across a diverse range of applications.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of the Project across a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Develop complex data project and work plans that outlines objectives, scope, timeline, resources and deliverables.
  • Establish clear project priorities, goals and success criteria.
  • Plan and manage project activities in line with Queensland Police Service and Whole of Government best practice and standards, including PRINCE2 and agile methodologies.
  • Provide high level strategic direction and leadership in the analysis, design, development and implementation of the project and related business strategies and organisational change.
  • Provide regular project progress status and financial reports to stakeholders and prepare, review and present project reports, briefing notes, submissions, and other correspondence.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes and to ensure compliance with business governance processes.
  • Provide guidance to project stakeholders to facilitate informed business decisions that improve business processes and meet changing and challenging business needs.
Essential Experience:
  • 5+ years’ experience of project management within a large and complex organization.
  • Proven experience leading the delivery of large-scale, projects across a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Analytical and Strategic thinking capabilities, with an ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Agile Project Management certification or equivalent (e.g. Prince 2 Practitioner or Safe Agile).
  • Current and varied experience across both public and private sector.
