We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with expertise in cyber security operations and ICT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be PRINCE2 Practitioner certified and capable of leading the end-to-end delivery of a Cyber Security Operations Uplift Project within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
About the Role:
As a Cyber Security Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of a mission-critical cyber security operations uplift initiative. This role requires strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure alignment with the project’s scope, schedule, quality, and budgetary constraints.
Working within an MSP and PRINCE2 governance framework, you will liaise with key stakeholders, manage financials, mitigate project risks, and drive organisational change to strengthen security postures and resilience against cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery & Governance:
- Plan, execute, and track the project lifecycle, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Adhere to PRINCE2, Agile, and MSP methodologies for structured project execution.
- Ensure compliance with industry cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF, IS18, ISO 27001, and Essential Eight.
- Work closely with Program Directors, Cyber Security SMEs, Infrastructure Engineers, and Senior Leadership to align project goals with business objectives.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication across technical and non-technical teams.
- Proactively identify and manage cyber security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities within the project scope.
- Handle complex procurement activities, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
- Manage scope changes, dependencies, and conflict resolution to ensure seamless project progression.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, cost forecasts, and resource allocation plans.
- Track project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and compliance with funding constraints.
- Drive the implementation of security operations centre (SOC) enhancements, incident response capabilities, threat intelligence platforms, and security automation.
- Oversee security tool deployment and integration, including SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Generate high-quality project documentation, including risk assessments, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification.
- Proven experience in managing ICT and cyber security projects in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of cyber security operations, governance, and risk management.
- Experience in both public and private sector cyber security environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, PPM tools, and Agile project methodologies.
- Recent experience leading cyber security operations uplift projects, including:
- Security monitoring and logging enhancements (e.g., SIEM, SOAR).
- Threat detection and incident response maturity uplift.
- Cloud security implementation (e.g., Azure Security Center, AWS Security Hub).
- Network security controls (e.g., firewalls, NAC, VPNs).
- Expertise in ICT infrastructure migration, implementation, and cybersecurity hardening.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, IS18, ISO 27001, ASD Essential Eight).
- Experience managing complex vendor contracts and third-party security services.
- Work on a high-impact cyber security transformation project in a structured, well-supported environment.
