About the role

Our client is a well-renowned FMCG business that produces quality long-life product for the Retail, Foodservice and Industrial markets. They're looking for a dynamic and experienced National Account Manager to manage their relationships within the Grocery Channel. Specifically, this role will be responsible for growth in Independents, Aldi and Costco.

Duties:
  • Achieve the annual retail budget by driving new private label business and brands in line with strategic plans, fostering growth within existing accounts, and ensuring the retention of current accounts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and ensuring the successful execution of sales plans
  • Develop and implement account plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Oversee end-to-end management of new projects, ensuring timely delivery within profitability frameworks.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional activities with key customers
  • Collaborate proactively with customers on Private Label and brands that align with the company's manufacturing capabilities.
  • Build strong relationships with key multi-site operators, key groups and industry bodies
  • Plan and execute factory tours for major accounts as required.
  • Monitor account performance, providing regular updates and recommendations to the business
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Retail FMCG account management, particularly within the Grocery Channel.
  • Extensive experience in managing Private Label accounts.
  • A successful track record of meeting sales targets and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability in winning new business and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong experience in dealing with major retailers such as Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and Costco will be beneficial. The primary experience for this role will be with Metcash and the Independent supermarket network.
  • A business degree or a related qualification is essential.
