Our client, a leader in the Victorian Civil Construction Industry, is seeking an experienced HR practitioner for the full-time role of Human Resources Manager at their Ravenhall office.

This dynamic organisation values a positive, proactive mindset. You'll report to the CFO and manage HR activities, including recruitment, training, safety, and policy implementation. This is a fantastic opportunity to build and establish an HR function and work with the executive team to create a strong HR presence during a growth phase!

Objectives of this role 
  • Create HR strategies and initiatives to enhance employee standards and procedures, leveraging existing HR systems alongside recommended improvements.
  • Guide the development and execution of HR initiatives aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining the diverse talent needed to drive business success.
  • Offer specialised advice, coaching, and support to the Leadership Team to foster a productive and engaged workplace culture.
  • Lead organisational development initiatives, including employee feedback sessions and workshops focused on promoting a positive culture.
  • Develop and maintain HR platforms, tools, and processes to ensure they are effectively managed and utilised, optimising the employee experience through reporting. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business leaders and people managers on day-to-day employee matters, providing consultation, coaching, and support for performance and development.
  • Oversee the entire recruitment process, including role evaluation, talent pool management, advertising, screening, and interviewing, in partnership with hiring managers.
  • Manage the annual performance review process, coaching leaders to ensure consistent execution and effective communication.
  • Create and maintain HR documentation, including offer letters, contracts, induction plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as the primary contact for payroll, ensuring all information is accurate, current, and delivered on time.
  • Work with department leaders to optimise training programs and enhance career development and management plans.
  • Lead wellbeing initiatives and team-building events to foster a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications
  • Experienced HR practitioner with a strong track record, ideally from a customer-focused business in the construction or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven history as a business partner, contributing to the organisation’s vision, mission, KPIs, and desired culture.
  • Capable of enhancing a solid foundation through the implementation of innovative ideas, particularly in talent management, learning and development, and cultural initiatives.
  • Proficient in various software and computer applications, including recruitment tools, learning platforms, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
