About the Role
As the General Manager - Supply Chain, you will lead and manage supply chain operations, encompassing planning (S&OP/IBP), procurement, logistics, export freight, and 3PL warehouse management. The first 6-12 months will see you deliver a key project focused on driving greater value across the Logistics network, including cost reduction, improving operational efficiency, and optimising service delivery. This will be underpinned by your proactive approach to collaborating with 3PL partners to drive greater accountability and mutual success.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a robust supply chain strategy that aligns with business goals.
  • Lead a team of supply chain professionals to deliver operational excellence.
  • Drive transformation through the adoption of SAP S/4HANA, implementing best-in-class processes.
Logistics Management
  • Oversee logistics operations, including on-site and 3PL warehouses.
  • Negotiate, implement, and manage 3PL and transport contracts with a focus on cost optimisation and performance metrics.
  • Ensure seamless domestic and international logistics, including inventory management, export shipping, and compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
  • Optimise stock turns and manage slow-moving, damaged, and obsolete inventory.
Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Establish and manage vendor contracts and procurement strategies aligned with business needs.
  • Support the procurement team in making data-driven, cost-effective decisions.
  • Ensure timely raw material purchases and contract obligations are met.
Planning & S&OP
  • Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Oversee planning master data, including lead times, constraints, and financial analysis, to support production and profitability goals.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement supply chain initiatives to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and 3PL providers to support business objectives.
Safety & Compliance
  • Foster a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Implement and monitor processes to mitigate risks across the supply chain.
 
The Ideal Candidate for this role will have experience in the following:
  • Extensive experience leading end-to-end supply chain operations in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing 3PL providers, export logistics, and vendor relationships within a cold-chain environment
  • Strong technical expertise with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, driving change through continuous improvement.
  • Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with high emotional intelligence.
