This pivotal role offers the opportunity to manage a large fleet network (both in-house and sub-contract) across Victoria within an ASX-listed organisation undergoing a transformative journey. As State Transport Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of supervisors, logistics coordinators, and broader operational staff, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement.
  
With strong support from a progressive Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will drive best-in-class performance, ensure compliance with heavy vehicle legislation, and champion safety across the business.

As State Transport Manager, you will oversee operational and cost management responsibilities across a large fleet network, ensuring optimal productivity, maintenance, and adherence to CPU and performance targets. You'll conduct regular vehicle and fleet inspections, ensuring compliance with Heavy Vehicle Legislative requirements (CoR etc), while fostering a culture of safety organisation wide, especially internal among internal teams and contracted drivers.
  
Strategically, you’ll drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality. This involves collaborating with the CI and CoE Teams to plan and execute capital investments alongside analysing DIFOT and wider performance metrics to identify areas for enhancement. Leading a team of supervisors and operational staff, you will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners will be essential to maximising operational outcomes and ensuring long-term success.
  
To be successful in this role, you will be a strong Logistics practitioner with broad Fleet expertise, with an ability to develop and execute Continuous Improvement initiatives, whilst having an appetite to dive into the detail and support your highly capable Supervisors with day to day operational challenges. You will be adept to managing and driving high levels of performance across complex transport operations, and will possess an ability to drive strategic outcomes that align with business objectives whilst being present, ensuring a strong and inclusive culture is driven across your wider State Operation.
