Temporary contract through till 30/06/2025 for a Senior Program Officer to join a complex QLD State Government Department based in Brisbane CBD. I am looking for a Senior Program Officer to support and lead business process improvements and system enhancements to drive effective and efficient management of the built infrastructure portfolio, ensuring all areas of the division are well supported.
 
play a key role in a small collaborative team who work closely with all areas of Infrastructure Services Division as well as the wider department.  This role reports to the Manager, Business Improvement within the Portfolio Services Unit.
 
About the role:
  • Identify and analyse strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable solutions and strategic advice to senior managers within the program.
  • Contribute to the development of a range of key activities for the program including strategic and operational planning, reporting, performance and risk management.
  • Achieve a strong client service focus for all project activities by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with departmental business units and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress and report to the Manager on various projects and action items and undertake investigation, research and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Provide regular reports on the delivery of project milestones on a range of issues and providing strategic advice and analysis about policy, programs and legislation relating to the program.
  • Provide high level policy advice on current strategic issues, programs and legislation pertaining to the program, including the preparation of submissions, briefings and responses to official correspondence.
  • Identify, research, develop and analyse complex policy options and provide high level, client focused advice to internal and external clients on a broad range of relevant infrastructure policy, planning and management activities.
  • Contribute to the development of strategy and management plans for specific activities associated with program and work unit responsibilities.
 
About You:
 
The ideal applicant will have demonstratable experiences managing high scrutiny programs, ensuring key milestone dates are met in consultation with internal and external (multi-agency) stakeholders. Ideally you will have experience working as a Program/Project Support Officer within a complex government department. Formal qualifications in a related field highly regarded.
