About the role
The Senior Legal Counsel will manage legal functions within the Group's Real Estate division, supporting high-profile projects across acquisitions, project launches, compliance, and stakeholder management. The role requires combining legal expertise with commercial acumen to deliver strategic advice and operational alignment in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Oversight: Provide legal advice on project structures, risk management, and compliance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and oversee contracts (e.g., off-the-plan sales, leases, and licenses) and manage conditional contracts for construction funding.
- Project Support: Collaborate with teams on project completions, tenders, and acquisitions while mitigating risks.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with joint venture partners, external advisors, financiers, builders, and sales teams.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage compliance with legal standards, including HR-related policies and governance.
- Corporate Legal Support: Address legal issues related to governance, policies, and broader business operations.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification and Australian practising certificate (or eligibility).
- Experience: Ideally 8 years post-qualification experience, specializing in real estate/property law.
- Skills:
- Strong written communication and contract management expertise.
- Commercially minded with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Ability to manage complex, sensitive matters with professional judgment
