About the role:

You will be involved in:
  • Designing and implementation of a project plan to deliver proactive audit & assurance program for enterprise wide payroll and industrial instrument compliance, including:
    • Risk identification, assessment and prioritization of proactive and reactive issues
    • Resource planning and allocation
    • Managing stakeholder engagement with internal stakeholders to investigate and remediate any issues
  • Management of reactive compliance matters, including audit, review and any relevant remediation of pay or other compliance issues
  • Advice and support in managing compliance related queries and disputes (from employees or external bodies i.e. unions)
  • Partnering with stakeholders in ER/IR team, broader HR division, business leaders, Finance, payroll & Kronos teams to investigate, remediate and design future compliance management processes
  • Assist with the design of processes and inputs for new Kronos system
  • Ongoing briefing and engagement with executive team members and senior leaders on audit & assurance program
  • Assistance with communications (internal and external) that relate to compliance matters
  • Advice/engagement with regulatory bodies in relation to compliance matters
  • Provide advice on employment and industrial relations legal matters and litigation and assist to resolve
  • Support the resolution of disputation considering business operational, commercial and reputational risks and win-win solutions
 About you:
  • Admission to practice law in Australia
  • At least 6 years PQE
  • Extensive experience across the ER/IR landscape
  • An excellent stakeholder engagement and management skill set
  • Experience in operation of awards and agreements and change management.
  • Experience with payroll/Kronos processes and compliance would be advantageous 
  • A strong commercial mindset
