The Position & The Organisation

Our client is a leader in the retail space providing high quality and trusted products in the automotive space. As the Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor you will be a strategic leader and lead the day-to-day management of the HSE function across the group. This is a stand-alone role, reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture and sitting within the People & Culture team, which is made up of 4 other individuals.
  
In this role you will be instrumental in the development implementation and continuous improvement of HSE frameworks, along with leading and driving cultural change. You will provide advice on HSE matters, conduct the end-to-end audit process, and deliver and facilitate training across the business.
  
To be successful in this role you will have proven HSE experience with exposure to conducting audits, providing best practice advice and have experience in managing psychosocial risks. This role will suit a WHS professional who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating and working with individuals to support the overall health, safety and environmental strategy of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine the HSE management system and frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and legislative requirements and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and manage psychosocial hazards, develop control measures, and promote mental well-being through training and awareness programs.
  • Ensure legislative compliance, conduct audits and risk assessments, manage HSE reporting, and collaborate on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HSE matters, provide site-based support, and oversee daily HSE activities.
  • Drive a proactive HSE culture, promote a "Safe for All" ethos, and engage employees in safety and environmental stewardship.
Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of HSE experience with proven expertise in developing HSE frameworks and leading cultural change.
  • Experience managing psychosocial risks and understanding WHS Regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of legislative requirements, risk management principles, and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE management systems.
