Our client is a state owned - Financial administration business, dedicated to providing essential services for Victorians who, due to mental illness, injury, or disability, are unable to independently manage their own financial and/or legal affairs.
The Role:
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and stability of our client’s organisation. You will be responsible for leading financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving process improvements within the finance department.
Key tasks will include:
- Prepare, review, and ensure compliance of financial statements with accounting standards and regulations.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support organizational objectives.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance and performance metrics, for senior management.
- Manage financial operations, including cash flow, accounts, and general ledger maintenance.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls for financial data integrity and security.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary support to auditors.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Mentor junior finance team members to foster their professional development.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends for compliance.
You possess highly developed technical accounting skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Other requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CA qualification or near completion.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
