About the role
This is an initial 6-month contract position where you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing their quality management systems, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement across all operations. You will work closely with production, R&D, and other departments to guarantee that their products meet the highest quality standards from raw materials to final output.
As QA Manager, you will lead the team to ensure product quality, food safety, and compliance with HACCP, GMP, and regulatory standards. You will manage audits, resolve customer complaints, maintain quality documentation, and collaborate with production and R&D on process improvements. Additionally, you’ll oversee non-conformance reports and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance in the food or FMCG sector, preferably in confectionery or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and relevant Australian food safety regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in leading quality teams and managing internal and external audits.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to work cross-functionally with various departments.
- Proficiency in quality management systems, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
