Our client is a growing and forward-thinking manufacturing business undergoing a period of transformation and systems development. With recent investment and a clear focus on operational improvement, they are now seeking a driven and strategic Planning & Logistics Lead to take ownership of production scheduling and workshop coordination. The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this newly created position is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, cross-functional collaboration, and driving efficiency. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the master production schedule, aligning resource planning, and working closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure outputs are met. With systems recently upgraded to Microsoft Dynamics 365, you’ll also be instrumental in embedding best practice across planning and logistics functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the master production schedule to ensure timely delivery and resource alignment
- Oversee workshop scheduling and activity, in close partnership with engineering
- Drive scheduling adherence and exit-factory KPIs
- Collaborate with procurement, production management, and engineering teams to streamline workflows
- Use tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Excel, and Outlook to manage and optimise planning
- Help establish planning processes and bring clarity to a role that’s building from the ground up
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong ERP system skills – Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience a plus
- Confident working with Excel and Outlook for planning and communication
- A collaborative and proactive communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Comfortable stepping into a new role and building structure from scratch
- Exposure to warehouse exposure managing logistics highly regarded
