Our client is a well-known and reputable business who is currently looking for a Payroll Compliance Officer with experience using SAP and SuccessFactors to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll activities, compliance with legal and policy requirements. This position is responsible for handling non-transactional and compliance-related tasks, supporting the Payroll team in various operational aspects, and contributing to process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and back up for end of month processes, including Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and deduction activities
- Handle compliance related tasks via ServiceNow tickets, acting as the first escalation point for tax and super related queries
- Prepare, balance and reconcile Payroll Tax, Superannuation, third-party deductions and variances reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, taxation and super contributions following legislative, award and policy requirements
- Oversee internal and external audit and compliance activities related to payroll
- Implement and track payroll controls and compliance through reporting mechanisms
- Conduct payroll related reconciliations, validate pay runs, and generate compliance reports
- Address escalated payroll-related inquiries and issues within Service Level Agreements
Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience with SAP essential
- Previous experience in payroll EOM, reporting and compliance
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven process improvement initiatives
- Confident when dealing with stakeholders both internal and external
- Able to take initiative and accountability for assigned task
