In a vitally important leadership role, our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to mentor and lead their payroll team, whilst focusing on statutory compliance obligations. Position Description
With team fit and culture a priority, the business is seeking a dynamic and motivated Payroll Manager to lead a medium sized team.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the role will include but not be limited to:
- Developing, mentoring and leading a close knit team of 7 x Payroll Officers
- Oversee the accuracy and efficiency of the national fortnightly pay cycle
- Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiency
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts and auditing / reporting as required
- Provide training and mentoring to develop and enhance team performance
- Ensuring compliance with payroll related legislation
- Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business
- Partner and develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have proven management experience in a Payroll capacity within a large scale organisation, as well as the following attributes:
- Outstanding knowledge of best practice for Payroll
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective leadership and stakeholder management
- The ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs, with a sound knowledge of current legislation
- Prior experience with system upgrades / integrations
- Strong analytical skills with a forward thinking & solution focused mindset
- Prior experience using a large ERP system such as SAP is highly advantageous
