They are on the lookout for a skilled Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll function. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while complying with all regulatory requirements. You will lead a team committed to continuous improvement and collaborate closely with the People & Culture and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing a team of 2 x direct reports.
- Fortnightly payroll for up to 1,500.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including superannuation and taxation.
- Lead and mentor payroll staff, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
- Ensure accurate payroll reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. Prepare necessary documentation for audits.
- Assist with the transition to a new payroll system (HR3 is the incumbent).
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving payroll processes and policies.
Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have proven payroll experience in a similar role, along with the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum of 5 years as a Payroll Manager, managing payroll for 1,000+ employees.
- The ability to liaise with a multitude of stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of payroll practices, legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in payroll software/HRIS and Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to develop and motivate teams, with exceptional communication skills.
- Strong numeracy and accuracy, capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Impeccable communication skills.
