Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for: 
  • Ensuring all payments are made in accordance with Awards, Agreements, Company Policy and Procedures, FairWork, Superannuation, and other relevant legislative requirements.
  • Identifying and consolidating payroll compliance risks and issues.
  • Identifying process improvement strategies with current systems and processes.
  • Maintaining award data and ensure wages payments comply with EBA or Awards.
  • Planning and implementing all payroll changes in relation to new and amended industrial instruments.
  • Responding to escalated payroll compliance queries.
  • Assist in developing framework for all payroll governance & compliance controls.
  • Checking pay run variance report for discrepancies.
  • Undertaking periodic internal audits on high risk areas.
  • Reviewing and updating payroll processes on a regular basis to maintain continuous improvement.
  • Assisting to process monthly pays as required.

The Successful Applicant

You will have extensive experience across payroll governance and compliance, along with the following attributes.
  • Experience in a complex corporate or shared services environment processing high volumes of weekly, fortnightly & monthly pay runs.
  • Experience with Rostering systems and applications
  • Extensive understanding of EBAs and award interpretation, health industry preferable.
  • Excellent computer / Excel skills
  • Experience with Chris21 and/or healthcare industry experience would be advantageous, though not essential
  • Well developed organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Innovative, proactive and creative attitude
  • Ability to set priorities and work under pressure
  • Consistently meet tight deadlines and timeframes
