- Monitor daily plant maintenance activities to ensure priorities are met
- Liaison with operations personnel to ensure a high degree of availability of plant and equipment
- Take a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime and designing and implementing engineering solutions to eliminate those causes;
- Completion of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
- Ensure immediate reaction to breakdowns and urgent work
- Identify and propose equipment improvement opportunities
- Manage allocated projects from implementation to completion
- Monitor and address crew performance
- Knowledge sharing, commissioning and training
- Liaise with the Inventory Controller and Stores department in regard to the purchase of parts and materials to satisfy work order requirements
- Qualified tradesperson with extensive mechanical experience
- Proven track record in supervision and maintenance in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment
- CMMS experience, SAP preferred
- A strong people leader with a passion for motivating and developing teams
