Working within our clients newly created Artificial Intelligence Unit, you'll be part of a team driving AI advancements within the public sector. Using new and emerging LLMOps (Large Language Model Operations) toolkits and technologies and utilising our clients centralised AI platform, this team is responsible for driving innovation, advancements, modernisation and improved service delivery through responsible AI adoption.
 
As the Lead Developer, some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with team members responsible for the development, enhancement, and support of the  centralised AI platform and associated web applications.
  • Driving the development of innovative AI applications and solutions.
  • Engaging in Agile team practices to create new features and enhance digital services.
  • Supporting a collaborative, product-focused culture by continuously iterating and improving to deliver high-quality digital products and services.
  • Ensuring that operations, processes, and practices comply with relevant legislative and standards.
  • Being available for on-call support and after-hours work when required, particularly during critical project phases.
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following technical experience: 
  • React & TypeScript: Strong experience with React, including hooks, state management, and building scalable, type-safe applications using TypeScript.
  • Node.js with Azure: Expertise in Node.js, particularly in integrating with Azure services to develop robust server-side logic for web apps.
  • .NET & Related Technologies: Strong experience with .NET, .NET Core, C#, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and SQL/NoSQL databases, with hands-on expertise in developing web services and related technologies.
  • Cosmos DB: Hands-on experience with Cosmos DB for data modeling, query optimisation, and utilising its multi-model, globally distributed capabilities.
  • Azure DevOps & CI/CD: Proficiency in managing repositories and setting up CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring efficient automated testing and deployments.
  • Azure AI & OpenAI: Familiarity with Azure AI services, including Cognitive Search, and ideally experience with OpenAI or similar large language models (LLMs) for AI-driven solutions.
  • Enterprise Security Knowledge: In-depth understanding of enterprise security practices, including secure coding, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and Azure security tools.
  • Unit Testing & Test Automation: Expertise in writing unit tests and leveraging test automation frameworks to ensure code quality and robustness.
  • Bicep (IaC): Solid experience using Bicep to manage Azure infrastructure, emphasising reusable and maintainable code.
  • Azure API Management: Strong skills in designing, implementing, and securing APIs, with performance monitoring and secure access management through Azure API Management.
