Reporting directly to the CFO, the interim GM of Finance will oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance transactions and reporting team, provide governance oversight, and ensure the company’s finance function is organised, efficient and produces timely and accurate financial reporting, as well as drive and deliver the year-end stat accounts.
- Financial statements: Ownership for planning and preparation of half-year and year-end financial statements compliant with accounting standards and other ASX/ASIC/regulatory requirements (including Directors’ Report and Remuneration Report).
- Annual report: Ownership for planning and preparation of annual report production schedule and coordination of resources to ensure timelines are achieved.
- Shareholder/ASX investor presentations: Ownership for planning and preparation of ASX investor presentations, including half-year results, year-end results and other ad hoc presentations.
- Consolidation process and monthly reporting: Ownership for planning and preparation of monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, debtors and other reporting.
- Monthly financial reports for C-suite/Board: Ownership for timely production of monthly C-suite/Board reports (including performance reporting insights and commentary) and consolidation of Operations Board pack.
- Segment and cost centre reporting: Ownership of segment / cost centre reporting, including providing detailed insights into the financial performance of each segment / cost centre. Measuring company performance against internal and/or external benchmarks.
- Audit & Risk Committee papers (and other internal papers): Ownership for planning and preparation of all accounting issues and position papers, including half-year and year-end accounting matters paper for Audit & Risk Committee adoption. Preparation of other papers including going concern, covenants and cashflows, dividends, earnings guidance, etc. Attending Audit & Risk Committee meetings and presenting papers as required by CFO.
- Budgets, forecasts and cash flows: Assist and support FP&A team in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows, along with periodic projection of forward-looking profitability against budget/forecasts.
Skills and Experience
- Fully qualified ACA/CPA (or equivalent) with extensive experience in financial control, statutory reporting, management reporting and tax management.
- ASX listed company experience in a Group Financial Controller or General Manager-Finance role is preferred.
- You will be able to demonstrate your experience of managing and developing a multi-disciplinary accounting team.
- Experience in managing external financiers, negotiating financing documentation and liaising with external advisers (tax, audit, legal).
- The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
- You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach.
- Computer literate with strong excel and Great Plains skills, and solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Team management, development and leadership: Management of the finance transaction (Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable) and reporting functions, and providing strong financial stewardship.
