About the Position

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Community Engagement will be primarily responsible for overseeing Guide Dogs Queensland’s engagement with its supporters as well as leading efforts to make society more accessible and inclusive for people with low vision and blindness.  You will work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to strengthen Guide Dog Queensland’s financial sustainability and capability.  This will be achieved through consolidating commitment from donors and volunteers, creating exceptional experiences, fostering meaningful connections and targeted advocacy programs.  You will lead a team of dedicated professionals across philanthropy, donor relations, fundraising, marketing, communications and advocacy functions.

About the Person

We are seeking a passionate and committed professional with significant experience leading broad based fundraising programs preferably in a not-for-profit environment. In addition, you will have managed contemporary brand and marketing strategies and possess highly developed relationship building skills across government relations and/or an advocacy setting.  An ability to work collaboratively across organisational functions and high levels of emotional intelligence are considered essential attributes.  Previous success leading major change projects or changes in operating models combined with strong business acumen will be highly regarded.  A post graduate degree in a relevant discipline is considered essential.
