About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Contracts Manager / Commercial Lawyer to join a leading infrastructure services provider. This role will lead legal reviews of contracts in the tender phase, support contract negotiation, and provide risk management advice for major transport and infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial & Risk, you will play a key role in drafting, negotiating, and implementing contractual strategies while working collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender Phase Contract Review: Assess legal risks and develop contractual strategies.
- Contract Drafting: Prepare and review bespoke contract terms and agreements.
- Project Support: Provide legal and risk management advice throughout project lifecycles.
- Negotiation & Dispute Resolution: Support contract negotiations and issue resolution.
- Governance & Compliance: Prepare documentation for governance approvals.
- Training & Development: Assist in upskilling commercial teams on contract management principles.
- Tertiary qualification in Law with 7+ years post-admission experience in construction law or equivalent experience in contract management.
- Strong knowledge of Australian construction contracts and risk mitigation principles.
- Experience in contract drafting, interpretation, and negotiation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
