About the role:
  
This newly created hybrid Commercial Planning & Field Sales Manager will be integral to driving the continued success of the Independents business unit. Working in close partnership with a very experienced GM Sales – Indies, the mission of this role is to drive focus, simplicity, best in class execution and great customer experience. This is a unique opportunity that encompasses plenty of strategy development and where its execution will be key.
  
You will be comfortable working in a fast paced, fluid environment. You will be a strong communicator, coach, collaborator and problem solver.  
  
Role responsibilities:
  • Develop a call coverage model - that maximises effectiveness and efficiency of Sales FTE & Agents. i.e. call on the right stores at the right frequency.
  • Develop a “remote” call model - for stores we do not physically call on to drive sales
  • Improve business planning & KPI score carding - there are two major seasonal launches each year (Spring/Summer & Autumn/Winter). These seasons need to be broken down into two-monthly call cycles with clear selling priorities: Distribution plan / focuses, Promotion plan., Clearance sell-in plan, POS development and sell-in plan.
  • Develop key standard reports to track business performance & key KPIs.
  • Simplify communications - Develop clear, streamlined communication process from Head Office to Sales i.e. Head Office To Sales (HOTS).
  • Implement CRM tool - to improve planning, selling and track/measure.
  • Build capability of field selling team – build a training plan to increase selling skills & capability of the field selling team. Key areas for development include: Territory performance reviews (KPI’s & Standardised reports) & business planning, Territory cycle call planning, Product training, Selling skills – Basic call procedure / PSF / Objection handing / Communication skills, CRM use and compliance
  • Embody and positively promote the company mission, values and brand messages
  • National coverage and so travel will be required
