The Role
Reporting into the Tax Manager and working in a team of 3, the responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- The preparation of tax calculations & returns at required intervals
- Creating and returning statements and documents to the tax manager by set deadlines.
- Multi-tasking supporting multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO - Australia), Inland Revenue Department (IRD – New Zealand) and other regulatory bodies when required.
- Managing Portals and access requests to tax authorities.
- Preparing business income tax returns and statements for audits
- Assisting in financial planning
- Regularly reviewing systems and making updates and improvements where necessary
- Engaging regularly with main stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships
- Identifying tax risk areas
- Preparation of tax position papers supporting adopted tax treatments
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- CA or CPA qualification; or nearing completion
- Minimum 2 years post study practical tax experience
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
