An exciting opportunity has arisen for an immediate start role with a well-known retail organisation. This Senior Tax Accountant role will involve taking a proactive approach to support the management and communication of the company’s financial and corporate accounting activities, both locally and internationally. The position is initially a 6-7 month contract with the possibility for further extension.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Head of Tax & Treasury, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Assist in the preparation of income tax returns for review by the Senior Tax Manager;
- Assist in the preparation of tax-effect accounting entries and disclosures in accordance with AIFRS;
- Assist with the preparation & execution of UK tax requirements for compliance
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS;
- Liaise with the ATO and other revenue authorities and assisting in maintaining the income tax consolidated and GST groups and other tax/revenue related registrations;
- Collaborate with the wider Finance team with a view to consistently improve tax processes;
- Other tax related duties and projects as required.
The successful candidate will have the following criteria:
- CA or CPA qualified
- Strong commercial tax background with a focus on UK Tax
- Big4 training is an advantage but not mandatory
- Experience within an Australian business
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Experience through FBT, GST, BAS, Payroll Tax and Tax Returns;
