About the role:
Our client, an Australian primary health care provider, are looking for an experienced payroll project specialist to join their team on a 6 month contract. The Payroll Projects Specialist , reporting to the Financial Controller, will support payroll operations and play a pivotal role in implementing a new payroll system (EmploymentHero) to replace the current system (MicroPay). Additionally, the role involves ensuring timely and accurate weekly pay runs using current systems, ensuring a seamless transition for all stakeholders.  
 

The ideal candidate for this role has had previous experience in payroll system implementation as well as great communication skills and a proactive attitude towards process improvement.
 

The Responsibilities:
  • Using your experience from BAU Payroll to map out the current Payroll processes
  • Providing input into the design and implementation of the new system
  • Work closely with the Projects team on the smooth transition to the new system
  • Processing Fortnightly pay runs for ~800 employees from start to finish using a new Platform
  • Updating and importing timesheets from Time & Attendance Software
  • Outputs and reconciliations for monthly management accounts and annual financial statements; including AL and LSL leave accruals, salary accruals and other payables/accruals (WC, Super & Payroll Tax)
  • Reporting the outcomes of different tests used with the system
The successful candidate will have:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Payroll position. Healthcare industry experience is an advantage
  • Previous experience in payroll system implementation
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Previous experience with Sage MicroPay, Tanda, and Employment Hero would be highly regarded
  • Understanding of awards and ability to interpret the Support Services & Nurses awards
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to thrive in a changing and fast paced environment
  • Up to date knowledge of contemporary payroll, taxation and superannuation legislation
