Our client is a national organisation within the manufacturing industry who has a fantastic company culture and provide flexible working conditions. An opportunity as arisen for an experienced Payroll Officer to work on a 12 month FTC whilst the company is going through a system implementation project.
This is a hands-on payroll position within a large, growing organisation and will involve managing Australia and NZ payroll for approximately 220 employees.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Coordinate, direct and control payroll preparation, processing and distribution
- Uphold high customer service standards and protocols across the business
- Develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders (Executives, HR, Finance)
- Use your system experience to ensure staff are well trained and payroll systems are running at their best
- Identify process improvements and implement these changes using your strong system knowledge
- Ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time, and all payments comply with Australian & New Zealand taxation and employment laws.
- Reviewing and uploading time and attendance systems
- Responsible for all other payroll related items including correct leave provisioning (annual leave, long service leave, sick leave and rostered days off)
- 5 years plus experience in payroll - this role would be suited towards a senior payroll officer looking to step up into a Payroll Manager/Standalone role
- Experience with New Zealand payroll and a solid understanding of NZ legislation (including the Holidays Act) is essential due to its complexity.
- A hands on and proactive attitude to support the payroll function
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skill
