Our client is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Payroll Team Leader (2iC) to become a key player in their Head Office team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role where you’ll ensure payroll runs like clockwork and partner closely with the Payroll Manager in a true second-in-command capacity.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a medium sized team of up to 6 payroll professionals
- Process payroll with precision, ensuring accuracy and timeliness using established systems and procedures
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure correct GL allocations
- Assist with pay adjustments, terminations, and leave calculations
- Maintain up-to-date and compliant payroll records
- Act as a trusted point of contact for payroll queries from sites and employees
- Deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation
- Support year-end processes and reporting
About You
You’re a payroll expert who brings not just technical skills, but also leadership capability and a proactive mindset. You’re a great communicator, highly organised, and ready to hit the ground running.
Your experience includes:
- High-volume payroll processing in a large organisation
- Strong working knowledge of ADP Payforce (essential); HumanForce experience is a bonus
- Mentoring or leading a payroll team
- Interpreting EBAs and awards with confidence
- Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- A natural ability to build strong relationships and communicate clearly
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives (highly regarded)
- A collaborative, can-do attitude
