The Organisation:
Our client has been an industry leading business for 20+ years in Victoria, with exciting continual growth plans with large-scale projects on the horizon. With a commitment to excellence, the organisation has established a strong reputation for delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions across varying sectors. The business is currently looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to play a key role in day to day payroll operations, whilst assist with the implementation of a new payroll system. This is an exciting newly role to improve efficiencies, and offers excellent work-life balance with hybrid working arrangements.

Position Description:  
Reporting to the CFO, your duties will include:
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of a weekly payroll
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
  • Interpreting all relevant EBAs and awards
  • PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workcover and Superannuation payments
  • Work in partnership with the CFO to assist with the implementation of a new payroll system (which has commenced)
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies where relevant
  • Reporting duties
  • Provide high quality customer service through accurate information and support to stakeholder enquiries
  • Train the company employees to efficiently & accurately use the new system

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful applicant will have similar proven experience in a Senior Payroll role possessing the following skills:  
  • Prior experience in playing a key role in the efficient functioning and delivery of payroll operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of payroll functions, procedures, and processes
  • Understanding an ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs
  • Strong attention to detail and high level communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
  • Positive attitude and an ability to hit the ground running
