About the role
A Payroll Officer is required to join an outsourced payroll team in a short term role to assist a business who has recently gone into voluntary administration pay out their existing employees.
The Responsibilities
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working within a large team autonomously, you will be solely responsible for (but not limited to) the following duties:
- Processing payroll for approximately 600 employees fortnightly via Micropay
- Calculating outstanding accrued leave redundancy entitlements
- Prepare and lodge payroll tax, PAYG, work cover and superannuation
- Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information
- Understanding of Awards
- Resolving payroll discrepancies as well as;
- Various other duties as required
The successful applicant will have
- Experience in redundancy payments, calculating accrued leave entitlements an advantage
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi task and work within a fast faced environment
- Knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, superannuation & payroll tax legislation
- Strong excel and numeracy skills
