Our client owns and operates electricity distribution networks servicing 1.2 million customers while also enabling the renewable generation essential to transition to a clean energy future. They are on the lookout for a Senior Payroll Officer to support the Payroll Manager ensuring the company’s payroll function offers exceptional service delivery, with a strong focus on the day-to-day activities of the team, including managing and prioritising workload.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure that payroll is processed accurately on a fortnightly and monthly basis for approximately 2,600 employees.
- Respond to a variety of employee payroll queries received through the Payroll Portal.
- Prepare and remit monthly and annual payroll tax payments.
- Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations.
- Coordinate and administer the Company’s Income Protection Insurance Claims and WorkCover claims.
- Provide timely and accurate redundancy estimates, as required.
- Create and distribute reports to various stakeholders and provide relevant payroll insights.
- Manage the update of the payroll system’s configuration in line with changes in Enterprise Agreements, legislation, corporate restructures etc.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience in full function payroll processing
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven process improvement initiatives
- High attention to detail including prioritising and organising workload
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
- Confident when dealing with stakeholders both internal and external
- Able to take initiative and accountability for assigned task
- Excellent salary $100k - $110k + super
