This role will provide key networking capabilities to a host of queensland government departments. As such we need an individual that is skilled in a number of key government technologies such as CISCO and Juniper.
The role is until July 2025 with 2 x 12 Month extensions.
Key Responsibilities As a Senior Network Engineer, you will:
- Plan, design, and build network solutions that align with customer needs and architecture requirements.
- Manage small-to-medium network projects, working closely with clients, suppliers, managers, and colleagues to ensure successful outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and team members to foster collaboration.
- Adhere to change, release, incident, and problem management processes, ensuring smooth operations.
- Lead and mentor team members, contributing to a high-performing, service-oriented team culture.
- This role requires availability for on-call duties, overtime, and occasional work outside regular business hours.
- Expertise in fully IP-converged networks.
- Experience in Data Centre/LAN/MAN/WAN environments.
- Proficiency in network management and protocols like MPLS, VRF, EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Knowledge of Shared Infrastructure Network Connectivity.
- Familiarity with automation and orchestration technologies, including Ansible, Git, and scripting.
- Experience in multi-tenancy/service provider environments.
- Multivendor expertise (e.g., CISCO, Juniper, HP/H3C).
- Skills in network monitoring and management, as well as ancillary services (rack, power, cabling, etc.).
- Understanding of carrier services, standards, and tariffs.
- Knowledge of network security technologies, wireless, and mobile technologies.
