About the Role:
As a Senior Legal Counsel you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal support to their operations in Australia. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, manage legal risks, and contribute to business objectives.
In this role you will:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, including data protection, privacy, competition, and commercial transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and risk management policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate legal challenges and drive business initiatives.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry trends, advising the organization on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Support dispute resolution efforts and manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in-house or with a reputable law firm.
- A background in Financial Services would be highly advantageous
- Strong expertise in corporate law, data privacy (including GDPR and Australian Privacy Principles), competition and commercial contracts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
