The Company

Sharp and Carter are partnering exclusively with an established Engineering & Surveying business in Perth’s Northern suburbs in their search for a knowledgeable, well-rounded and technically skilled Infrastructure Engineer. The business has continuously grown for the past few years, involving acquisitions across the APAZ region, with no signs of slowing down. The IT department have several exciting projects planned this fiscal year, and this role will be pivotal in their success.

The Role

The successful candidate will be looking to advance their career by taking on additional duties, mentoring their peers, and designing and executing enterprise-level solutions:
  
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of both on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Incorporate newly acquired entities into the IT infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the creation of infrastructure strategies.
  • Organise system improvement projects, with a focus on expanding Azure cloud adoption.
  • Train and mentor colleagues in best practices for security and reliability.
  • Assess current solutions, designs, and architectures, and suggest enhancements, including disaster recovery.
Experience:
  • 5-10 years of experience in similar roles
  • Proven experience in AD/AAD identity migrations following business mergers
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions for servers and networks
  • Proficient in designing, developing, and deploying cloud strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure technologies, including device management solutions such as Intune
  • Strong background in server virtualisation technologies, particularly VMware, and storage systems
  • Previous experience managing IT operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Linux within a VMware environment
  • Experience in supporting the Microsoft 365 suite of products
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing IT infrastructure
  • Ability to influence and drive major technical decision processes and implementations
