About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is designed for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in accounting and financial reporting, who is looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing organisation.
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing timely and insightful financial analysis to support decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of half-year and annual financial reports.
- Oversee the timely completion of key statutory obligations, including monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS), FBT returns, and annual payroll tax reports.
- Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring financial controls are reviewed and maintained.
- Manage the annual tax accounting and compliance process for the tax consolidated group.
- Prepare briefing papers for board meetings and technical accounting position papers for complex transactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely period-end financial close, including tax consolidation, income tax calculations, intercompany reconciliations, and accounting for investments, derivatives, and leases.
- Maintain financial models and schedules for assets, borrowings, and other key areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with FP&A to review accounting topics in budgets, forecasts, and portfolio valuations.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures on technical tax and accounting topics.
- Provide expert guidance on tax and accounting issues within the Finance Transformation Program.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance transformation and digitisation.
CA/CPA qualified, you will ideally have started your career at a Big 4 or mid-tier firm in Financial Services, or have experience working as a Financial Accountant within the Financial Services or Funds Management industry. You have proven leadership experience, a desire to succeed, and a willingness to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to support the company’s growth agenda. This role will require a strong process improvement mindset, as well as a hands-on approach.
