6 Month temporary contract for a Senior Advisor with Queensland state Government based in Brisbane CBD. Play a key role in the delivery of a new Portfolio Project Management Tool while also working with the EPMO to help with project highlights and wider reporting frameworks. The temporary Senior Advisor, EPMO, will have dual responsibility areas, which primarily are to:
 
Portfolio Project Management Tool Implementation: 
  • Be the subject-matter-expert on PPM administration, data integrity and interrogation as this relates to project reporting, outputs and evidence for project decisions
  • Develop, deliver and co-ordinate PPM training with end-users and key stakeholders, noting varying delivery approaches, audiences and availabilities
  • As required, work with PPM supplier and EPMO Team on UAT, implementation planning, system enhancements (PPM), system artefacts including intranet content and help guides (as examples)
  • Ensure connectivity to PPM, EPMO, Governance frameworks, and affiliated documents, templates, process / flow charts, and similar for consistency and compliance
  • As required, collaborate with ICT and/or technical stakeholders in relation to system integration plans, risks and solutions
  • Use your experience in this area to suggest efficiencies, improvements, or system solutions to help the PPM implementation be fit-for-purpose to best benefit of organisational Project delivery 
 
EPMO Support:
  • Work closely with Principal Analyst, EPMO, Principal Advisor, EPMO to ensure EPMO reporting requirements are completed on time, accurately, sequenced contextually, and are submitted as per framework protocols 
  • Advise Project / Program Managers on project methodologies, governance frameworks, reporting timelines, and help triage EPMO queries (inbox)
  • Maintain and update the relevant project and program management artefacts and templates
  • Co-ordinate and implement portfolio activities that support the Agency to achieve reform and whole-of-government strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with Project / Program Managers to identify and mitigate portfolio key risks and initiatives through the effective implementation of evidence-based risk management frameworks and approaches, including escalation activities, as required
  • Support the EPMO Team and/or Project Managers prepare and equip the business for reform project activities, and facilitate the integration of project outcomes into business as usual practices
  • Develop strong working relationships and effective engagements with key stakeholders regarding the management and delivery of  portfolio, and the EPMO’s role and value in this framework
 
About You:
  • Demonstrable experience in interpreting and using Portfolio, Project Management methodologies and software (PPM) as well as a sound understanding of project plans, schedules, variance and risk management
  • Proven experience to develop, and deliver, training content for system (PPM) implementation across multiple channels, to a wide audience in varying geographic locations
  • Solid experience in similar role, ideally within a multi-project delivery, complex operational environment
  • Evidenced competency, sound judgement and confidence to manage various and competing PPM administration and reporting functions within a dynamic project delivery environment
  • Evidenced capability identify and analyse emerging or current trends, variances, risks and issues as this relates to PPM data and/or project delivery, and write these into project updates or reports in consultation with EPMO and/or Project Managers.
  • High level interpersonal and engagement skills that build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders up to senior levels.
  • Proven self-starter and team member with high calibre organisation and follow up skills, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, able to work under pressure, and ensure task completion to timeframes, quality and governance.
  • In depth MS Office skills including Power BI, advanced xlsx, PowerPoint, template management, electronic filing maintaining version control.
