The Position
As a Retail Sales Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analysing sales data, identifying trends, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance our retail sales performance. Your expertise will support pricing strategies, promotional programs, and sales forecasting, ensuring we stay ahead of market dynamics and consumer behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse Australian and international retail sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.
- Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and optimize sales and profitability.
- Develop and recommend relevant retail data programs and subscriptions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create pricing strategies and promotional programs.
- Conduct thorough brand and competitor analysis to enhance market positioning.
- Prepare and monitor annual sales and margin budgets, providing variance analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts to support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives with valuable data-driven recommendations.
Experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in retail data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Expertise in pricing strategies, promotional planning, and market trend analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- A strategic and continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving business growth through data-driven decision-making.
