They are seeking a skilled Process Engineer for their facility based in Melbourne’s South East.


About the Role:

Our client is seeking a talented Process Engineer to join a dynamic team and play a key role in optimising the food manufacturing processes. Reporting into the CI Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating, improving, and maintaining production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimisation, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that enhance productivity and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse existing production processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design and implement process enhancements to optimise production while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, equipment failures, and quality issues, and develop corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Collaborate with R&D, Project Managers, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to scale up new products and processes from pilot to full production.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking out opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in process engineering within the food industry, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and regulatory requirements.
