The Position

A reputable organisation is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their growing team.

This role provides you the opportunity to work in a collaborative team to perform a payroll service for a large workforce. Working in a high-performing team within payroll, you will be supported and guided to ensure you are a successful member of the organisation. This organisation is a supportive and fun team culture. 


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for performing a full function payroll service. Your key responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:
  • End-to-end payroll processing (workforce of approx. 700);
  • Processing of adjustments and deductions including terminations, back-payments, WorkCover, tax, etc.;
  • Reconciliations;
  • Month-end and year-end reporting;
  • Attending to and resolving any employee payroll queries in an efficient, positive and timely manner;
  • Administration of new employee records and updating of existing employee files;
  • Driving, influencing and contributing to key payroll projects;
  • Ad hoc support and guidance on complex payroll matters.

Skills & Experience

As the suitable candidate for this position, you will hold prior relevant and recent experience in payroll. In addition, you will also:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience;
  • High attention to detail while working in a busy payroll environment;
  • Adaptive communication style to ensure an open, professional and friendly manner to all levels within the organisation;
  • Positive and friendly work ethic;
  • Strong team-player;
  • High computer literacy in all Microsoft office applications (particularly Excel) and experience using a large ERP payroll system (Chris21, SAP, Pulse, Aurion, Preceda, Employment Hero).
