Our client is a well established and highly recognisable transport and logistics provider. Due to business growth, they are seeking a talented and ambitious Payroll Officer to join their payroll team. This role will be suited to someone who has a passion for payroll and can work as part of a team.
Duties & responsibilities
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working within a small, close knit team, you will be responsible for:
- Processing a weekly and fortnightly payroll for approximately 600 employees across Australia and New Zealand
- Submit Single Touch Payroll information to ATO each pay cycle and as required
- Complete PAYG payments as required and respond to payroll queries in a timely manner
- Complete termination calculations as required
- Assist with lodgment of superannuation and monthly payroll tax reports
- Keep up to date with legislative changes and ensure the business complies to all legislative requirements pertaining to payroll
- Management and maintenance of payroll systems
- Produce payroll reports as required as well as other ad hoc duties assigned by your Manager
The successful applicant will have:
- Prior payroll experience, processing for 300+ employees or more
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi task and work within a fast faced environment
- Assertive nature with an ability to follow-up and see tasks through to completion
- Strong excel and numeracy skills
