Position Description

Our client is market leader within a an exciting and growing industry.  They are currently seeking a talented Payroll & HR Administrator to join their supportive and close knit team.  You will play a pivotal role in the organization, ensuring the seamless operation of their payroll and HR functions. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of payroll and HR related duties and will be a pivotal member of the finance team.  This role is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.  


Major Areas of Responsibility:

Payroll Responsibilities:
  • Process fortnightly payroll for 150 salaried and casual employees
  • Process all new starter, change to employment and termination documentation in line with fortnightly payroll processing deadlines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of documentation in line with current Enterprise Agreement, Modern Awards and Employment Contracts.
  • Calculation of, Superannuation, Payroll Tax and WorkCover compensation payments
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, period end and end of financial year reports 
  • Address payroll queries promptly and effectively.
  • Implement and maintain internal payroll procedures and systems.
HR Responsibilities:
  • Personnel / contract administration
  • Induction and onboarding
  • Assisting with recruitment administration and coordinating internal training
  • Maintaining Work, Health and Safety procedures, documentation and communication
  • Providing assistance around HR policies, projects and procedures
  • HRIS system administration

Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will have:
  • Extensive payroll experience (essential)
  • Exposure to Generalist HR administration would be highly advantageous, though not essential.
  • Prior experience using ELMO/Employment Hero would be advantageous   
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to investigate issues and propose solutions.
  • Capacity to process data accurately and efficiently.
