To support their expanding operations, they are seeking a meticulous, part-time bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis. About the Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director and working within a close-knit team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing and preparing weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in pay rates, deductions, and superannuation contributions.
- Completing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) in line with tax regulations and deadlines.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and follow-ups on overdue accounts.
- Conducting bank reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Keeping the general ledger updated and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports to assess the company’s financial performance.
- Ensuring accurate tax reporting and aiding in the preparation of annual tax returns.
- Coordinating with external accountants for tax planning, audits, and other financial matters.
- Providing administrative and clerical support as required.
About You:
To be considered for this role, you should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and hands-on experience with both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. You’ll be skilled in accounting software and MS Excel, with excellent attention to detail and strong time management abilities. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills are essential, and you should thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the construction industry is a significant advantage. A positive, reliable attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team are key to succeeding in this position.
