About the Role:
As the Nightshift Operations Manager, you will be coordinating stock between stands, warehouses, and manufacturing sites while leading a team of 20+ forklift drivers and labourers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing night operations (Midnight to 8AM) within the Sydney Markets
- Coordinating incoming produce directly from farms and ensuring smooth movement to warehouses or manufacturing
- Overseeing picking and packing of customer orders to transport companies for final delivery to retailers or individual shopkeepers
- Leading and coordinating a labour team, including labour hire and forklift drivers
- Spotting operational inefficiencies and finding smart ways to improve them
- Building strong relationships with transport partners, stand managers, suppliers, and other market stakeholders
- Ensuring health, safety, and compliance standards are met
This role is based in Homebush and is working nightshift (12 midnight – 8am).
About You:
We’re looking for an experienced operations leader who enjoys working within a FMCG logistics environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in produce, fresh food, or Sydney Markets operations
- A natural problem solver who can handle moving parts with a cool head
- Someone who can manage people, trucks, and product – all while keeping the night running smoothly
- A no-nonsense leader with a willingness to work night shift hours and lead from the front
- A continuous improvement mindset – always looking for smarter ways to work, whether it’s rethinking rosters, tightening processes, or boosting efficiency
