The Role
You will be responsible for the timely, efficient, and high-quality design and project work, contributing to the development and delivery of highly complex multi-axis machinery. The role requires taking projects from concept through to design and manufacturing while ensuring seamless collaboration with tradespeople and technical teams to deliver the best project outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical design, including selecting appropriate components and materials.
  • Collaborate as part of an engineering team to innovate and solve mechanical challenges.
  • Work through all project phases, from initial concept to final production, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and operator manuals.
  • Supervise QA procedures and maintain relevant technical files.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Key Selection Criteria:
  • 5-7 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in designing and producing complex automated machinery (such as factory machinery, assembly robots, or lifting equipment).
  • Experience working on projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong systems thinking, with a focus on safe design practices using hazard analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with a variety of materials and fabrication methods, including welding and machining.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks and other relevant CAD software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong organizational skills and a solid work ethic.
Qualifications:
  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering is required.
Additional Information:
  • Full-time position based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, working Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional overseas travel may be required due to the international scope of projects.
