The Company

They operate across a number of industries including direct to consumer. Currently embarking on an exciting period of transformational change this role is both technical and strategic and will see you in a true "Head of" position.  

The Role
Working closely with the senior and executive group finance team you will be a part of the Finance Leadership team and be responsible for the tax function locally and globally. Duties will include: 

  • Managing the direct and indirect taxes (income tax, FBT, Payroll tax, custom duties, GST) calculations and submissions;
  • Lead, develop and mentor a local tax team;
  • Partner with Executive management regarding Group structuring (inc. M&A);
  • Provide strategic tax advice to business units regarding their operational decision making, tax implications of business activity and transactions;
  • Monthly and annual tax calculations and associated accounting entries (including deferred taxes);
  • Review assets register in detail and ensure both accounting and tax asset registers are correct, accurate and properly reconciled;
  • Company-wide tax effect accounting;
  • Ensuring integration between ERP systems and company taxation policy;
  • Process improvement to minimise the risk of errors and increase efficiency; and 
  • Ensuring the company complies with the tax risk management framework. 
The Person 
Professionally qualified with a background from Big 4 or Mid-Tier you will be the “go to” person for all things tax in your current role. You will have a desire to work in both the strategic and compliance sides of taxation and have strong communication skills with a customer service focus to act as a trusted advisor to the business globally. You are an excellent communicator, a high-level presenter, have a track record of collaboration and problem solver. Further, you can lead, coach, and manage teams to deliver exceptional work.
