The Role
Reporting to the HSE Executive and with a dotted line to the Business Executive, the Head of HSE is responsible for all strategic and operational HSE accountabilities.
  
You will ensure strategies, systems and the approach to sustainable HSE performance is articulated and implemented, and you will drive behaviours that uphold the highest standards of safety, health and wellbeing, and environmental management.

Location
Melbourne CBD (Head Office) is the preferred with Sydney is optional with regular travel required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a large team of HSE professionals.
  • Provide effective and timely advice to stakeholders on HSE strategy and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with broader members of the HSE team and operationalise the HSE strategy.
  • Provide high level coaching and mentoring to BU leaders.
  • Drive a workplace HSE culture defined by risk-based systems and proactive behaviours.
  • Maintain and enhance risk-based HSE systems and assurance programs.

Skills & Experience:
  • Relevant HSE/Risk qualifications and a background in high-risk industries.
  • Significant people management experience in strategic HSE leadership roles.
  • Capability to coach leaders, and empower teams and line managers.
  • Demonstrated success operationalising HSE strategies in large, complex businesses.
  • Outstanding relationship building, communication (written and verbal), and influencing skills.
  • Composure, resilience, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate organisational complexity.

Salary
The indicative salary range is $250,000-$300,000 inclusive of superannuation. In addition, there is an attractive Short Term Incentive/Bonus of up to 30%.
The salary package will be commensurate with experience.
